BSI has announced the acquisition of Q-Audit, a JAS-ANZ accredited health care auditing body based in Sydney, Australia, and Auckland, New Zealand. The deal will see Q-Audit become part of BSI’s assurance business and now operates under the BSI brand.
The acquisition of Q-Audit strengthens BSI’s expansion of its health care services certification business in both the Australian and New Zealand market, supporting BSI’s international growth strategy. This investment, combined with BSI’s recent acquisition of HDANZ in August 2019, boosts the organization’s ambition to become the principal certification body in both the New Zealand and Australian health care services markets.
Q-Audit began operating in 1993 under the name Health Audit Group and rebranded in 2017. With clients across Australia and New Zealand, it predominantly provides health services related to disability employment, advocacy, mental health, private clinics, hospitals, and other for-profit and not-for-profit providers.
Susan Taylor Martin, chief executive at BSI says, “This acquisition is reflective of our key strategic aim: to build on our existing expertise in the region through our services in Australia and New Zealand. It is a positive step towards achieving our ambition of becoming the region’s leading provider in the health care sector and BSI’s global expertise will perfectly complement Q-Audit’s in-depth local knowledge. Crucially, the strategic fit between our two firms will add value to our respective client bases, helping them unlock excellence and become more resilient and trusted.”
Majid Zahoor, managing director at Q-Audit, says, “Over the past few years, we’ve really focused on establishing ourselves as one of the most trustworthy bodies and brands within the health, medical and care industry in New Zealand and Australia. Our aim is to work with the Australian and New Zealand healthcare sector to improve quality and ensure organizations are performing at their best – merging with BSI will enable us to go even further and faster in achieving this goal.”
