The American Society for Quality’s (ASQ) Government Division has created the Center for Electoral Quality and Integrity (CEQI) to serve as a resource for government leaders and citizens to turn to regarding the standardization of election processes that ensure the highest possible quality and integrity.
ASQ vision for the CEQI’s is to help create a world where fact-based government is admired for the efficiency and effectiveness of its service and its mission is to find, develop, and support quality and performance improvement champions in government.
“The formation of the Center for Electoral Quality and Integrity (CEQI) inside the Government Division allows our society to take the next step in turning our position paper, Advancing a Quality Management System For US Elections, into a means to take action to promote broad acceptance of quality standards and practices for our government elections,” said ASQ CEO Ann Jordan.
Government Division Chairman Marc Berson officially announced the formation of the CEQI. “The public sector focus of the Government Division and our members’ experience working with government organizations at all levels, makes this division the logical group from which to deploy our support to electoral groups throughout the nation and globally,” said Berson.
ASQ’s Government Division has more than 1,200 quality and performance improvement professionals from all areas of government, government leaders, consultants, analysts, practitioners, university professors, students, and others interested in the public sector.
ASQ Senior Member Kerry L. Bass will serve as CEQI’s first chair.
ASQ is seeking volunteers who are knowledgeable about electoral procedures and practices and who have a passion around election integrity to support the CEQI.
